Maestro Bickram Ghosh is one of India's greatest classical tabla players. He is revered globally for his dexterity on the tabla and also for being one of the trendsetters of Indian experimental music. He is an extremely successful film music director having scored for 40feature films, one of which got him an Oscar contention. Having performed the world over with the greatest names in classical music (especially Ravi Shankar, with whom he played for over a decade), Bickram later went on to form his hugely successful Indo-fusion band Rhythmscape. Bickram played on four albums that were nominated for Grammys including George Harrison's "Brainwashed". He played on "Full Circle" with Ravi Shankar which won Shankar a Grammy. Bickram has over 200 albums where he appears as a soloist , composer or collaborator . Ghosh is widely recognised as one of India’s most versatile musicians as well as one of the country’s most prolific collaborators.
