Smt. Bombay Jayashri Ramnath, one of the best known Carnatic musicians today, is a multi-talented artiste, who has been trained in Hindustani music and playing the veena. She has performed at the most prestigious venues, including Carnegie Hall, New York – only the second Carnatic musician to perform there after M.S. Subbulakshmi. She is the recipient of several awards and accolades. In 2009, Smt. Bombay Jayashri Ramnath was awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree of Doctor of Letters by the Mother Teresa Women’s University. She received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Bharatiya Vidya Bhawan 2014. In 2013, her song “Pi’s Lullaby” in Life of Pi was nominated for the ‘Best Original Song’at the Oscars. In 2017, she was nominated as India’s ambassador for the United States-based Earthday Network.
